Jo Pursaill joined ManpowerGroup UK in 2015 as Group Talent Director, when we were shifting from a branch to an online operation. In less than two years, Jo has led a cultural transformation, helping our people adopt successful mindsets and new ways of working – to create a coaching culture which supports and nurtures employees throughout ongoing change. Thanks to Jo’s vision that ‘talent strategy should drive business strategy’, a new culture permeates all levels of the business, with increased engagement (95% of employees say coaching has improved their performance), lower attrition rates thanks to the innovative ACE programme, and sales turnover up 13%. All at a time when High Street branches have been cut by half. Jo created a three-year high-impact, cost-effective, enterprise-wide strategy – to be piloted at Manpower. The cornerstones of her exceptional talent-driven strategy are: The Talent Governance Board, comprising of representatives from our four brands to encourage discussion and ownership around how best to drive impact across the business; the ACE programme; and our online Talent Hub.
